Mumbai, September 28
The special court constituted under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act (TADA) today acquitted five persons charged with conspiracy in the 1993 serial bomb blasts case. One person was, however, found guilty.
As per the chargesheet, Mansoor Qureshi, Shaikh Kasam Babulal, Sultan-e-Rome Ali Gul, Abdul Aziz Kader and Mohammed Iqbal Ibrahim were to go to Pakistan via Dubai for obtaining arms training. It was alleged that they returned from Dubai after the main conspirators in the blasts case failed to make travel arrangements for them to go on to
Pakistan.
Judge Pramod Kode, however, acquitted all five on the grounds that the case against them was weak and there were not enough grounds to convict them.
