Chennai, September 15
The Tamil Nadu police made a major breakthrough about the arms haul meant for Maoists seized in Andhra Pradesh and arrested seven persons while it dispatched a team to the neighbouring state to arrest the kingpin. The arms included rockets and launchers consigned to the Maoists in trucks from the state capital of Tamil Nadu.

Director General of Police D. Mukherjee said here today that Raghu, whose real name was Srenivas Reddy, was a hardcore Maoist and manufactured rocket shells and launchers and sent the consignment by road to Mahbubnagar district in Andhra Pradesh.

Three arms consignments, one in August 2005 and two in May 2006, had left from the industrial area in the outskirts for places in Andhra Pradesh in trucks belonging to Kranti Transport Company. The consignment was shown as textile machinery parts.
