Quitting, Prabhunath dares Lalu
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, August 24
Even as Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee threw the resignation of Prabhunath Singh in the wastepaper basket, the JD(U) leader dared Union Railway Minister and RJD supremo to resign and face him in elections in Bihar.

Mr Singh told reporters after submitting his resignation to the Speaker that he had done so because “I want a probe into the incident that happened in the Lok Sabha. If I am found guilty, I am ready to face action. At the same time, if the other side is guilty, then action should be taken against RJD member Sadhu Yadav.”

He challenged Lalu Prasad Yadav to resign his seat and contest against him either from his constituency of Maharajganj or from the Railway Minister’s Chhapra seat.

“Let’s have a one-to-one fight and see who has the better understanding among the public.”

Mr Singh insisted he had no intention of taking back his resignation as he was determined to fight it out with Lalu Prasad at the husting. “It is up to Lalu Yadav to decide whether he wants to contest from Maharajganj or Chhapra. I am ready for a fight,” he added.
