Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, July 1
While certain TV channels reported tonight that the Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) paper leaked and nearly 18 persons have been rounded up in this connection in New Delhi, a senior functionary of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences denied that any paper has been leaked.

The Tribune office was flooded with telephone calls late this evening with regard to the leakage of the paper.

The test is to be conducted by Baba Farid University tomorrow in Chandigarh.

When contacted, Mr S.P. Dhawan, Controller of Examination, said he had got telephone calls from various parts of the state in this regard, however, he had no information about the paper leak.

“The university has prepared alternative sets of the paper and no one knows which set would be given to the candidate. The test will be held as per schedule and it will not be cancelled,” he said.

Mr Dhawan said 10,196 candidates would appear in the examination that would be conducted in 41 centres. Those who did not receive the admit card could get it on Sunday till 8.30 am from the Panjab University guest house; Lajpat Rai Bhavan, Sector 15; SD College, Sector 32; SGGS College for Men, Sector 26; and the DRME office, Sector 40.
