New Delhi, June 2
Rahul Mahajan is on a ventilator in the intensive care unit of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.
The hospital authorities said his toxicology report, expected tomorrow, would help them know whether Rahul had poisoning. They said Rahul would be under observation for the next 72 hours.
Dr Karan Thakur, a spokesperson for Apollo Hospital, told TNS that 26-year-old Rahul was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state at 2.55 am today.
Dr Thakur said doctors who attended to Rahul reported that his blood pressure was “unrecordable”. Besides, he had shallow breathing and low oxygen saturation in the blood. He had to undergo
resuscitation treatment and was put on a ventilator.
He said Rahul’s blood pressure had picked up and he was sedated under ventilation.
Sources in Apollo Hospital told TNS that they were awaiting Rahul’s toxicology report, which would help them know the contents in the blood at the time of poisoning.
Dr Thakur said a five-member team of senior consultants, led by Dr Prasada Rao, a specialist in internal medicine, was attending to Rahul. Other
specialists in the team were Dr Avdesh Bansal (respiratory medicine), Dr Sanjiv Jasuja (nephrology), Dr Bipul Roy (cardiology) and Dr Vineet Suri (neurology).
