Anil Kapoor, Nihalani condemn ‘Fanaa’ ban

New Delhi, May 27
Terming as “harsh” the ban on release of Aamir Khan, Kajol-starrer “Fanaa” in Gujarat, actor Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Govind Nihalani today said it amounted to curbing the freedom of creative expression of an artiste.

“I have known Aamir for several years and, knowing him, I can say whatever he has done is with full conviction and because he strongly believes in the issue. However, banning the film just because he espoused a cause is totally condemnable,” Anil Kapoor said.

Meanwhile, in an interview to a news channel yesterday, Aamir said, “I am not against the dam. What I am saying is that the people who have been affected by the dam should be rehabilitated.”
