Brar supporters suspended from Congress Chandigarh, May 17 Mr Shamsher Singh Dullo, president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee(PPCC), today ordered the suspension of a former district president of the party unit in Moga, Mr Tara Singh Sandhu, Mr Kulbir Singh Bathinda and Mr Harinder Pal Singh Harry from the primary membership of the party for their alleged anti-party activities. They are all supporters of Mr Jagmeet Brar. Mr Rajpal Singh, general secretary of the PPCC, said that the suspended leaders had been asked to explain personally the statements made by them to the media in the recent past. These leaders had issued hard-hitting statements against the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, early this week. Mr Rajpal Singh said that Mr Manjit Singh Jhalbuti's case had been referred to the All- India Congress Committee for taking disciplinary action against him. He said that since Mr Manjit Singh was a member of the AICC, action could only be taken against him by the party high command. Mr Manjit Singh had also issued statements against Capt Amarinder Singh and certain Ministers along with Mr Sandhu. Meanwhile, Mr Manjit Singh said that action should first be taken against Mr Surinder Singla, Mr Partap Singh Bajwa and other Ministers who had issued statements against Mr Brar, a member of the Congress Working Committee. He said that Mr Singla and the others violated party discipline by speaking against the CWC member. He said that he made the statement against Mr Singla and the others only after they spoke against Mr Brar. |
