Doctors rule out liver transplant on Mahajan
Tribune News Service

Mumbai, April 25
There is no improvement in the condition of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan since Monday with the doctors at the Hinduja Hospital saying he continued to be 'very critical'. The only sign of optimism today was that Mahajan's blood pressure began to stabilise.

According to doctors who are treating Mahajan for gunshot wounds, his kidneys continue to be weak and his general condition is showing gradual deterioration.

However, doctors have lowered the amount of drugs administered to Mahajan in order to reduce the toxicity in his body.

According to a medical bulletin issued by Hinduja hospital late this afternoon doctors are closely monitoring Mahajan's condition.

Doctors have also completely ruled out a liver transplant on Mahajan since the organ is showing signs of recovery.

As of now Mahajan is on ventilator support and on dialysis. He has been kept on continuous renal replacement therapy to drain out toxins from his blood.
