5 dead, 33 hurt in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 14
At least five persons were killed and 33 others, including 10 security personnel, were injured in six successive grenade explosions here today.

14 injured in Delhi
New Delhi, April 14
At least 14 persons were injured, three of them seriously, in two bomb blasts that took place on the Jama Masjid premises this evening.

The United States may sign a civil nuclear agreement with Pakistan in future, visiting US Senator Chuck Hagel said on Thursday. Speaking at a press briefing here after meeting President Pervez Musharraf and Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, he said energy helped a lot in countering socio-economic challenges.

CBI lays hands on crucial documents
Chandigarh, April 14
The Central Bureau of Investigation has reportedly taken into custody crucial documents from the Forest Hill Golf Resort that were so far not available to the CBI while it had carried out its investigations in the case in the past year and a half. The documents relate to the resort, its original land use and the subsequent changes, said well-placed sources in the CBI.

Punjab Vigilance chief shifted
New SSPs for 17 districts
Chandigarh, April 14
The chief of the high-profile Punjab Vigilance Bureau, Mr A.P. Pandey, has been shifted while 17 districts, including the police districts of Punjab, will have new SSPs in a major reshuffle ordered by the state government here today.
