D.K. Jain to be sworn in as SC Judge today

The Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice, Mr Justice D.K. Jain will be administered the oath as Judge of the Supreme Court tomorrow morning. According to sources, Mr Justice Jain would be administered the oath by Chief Justice of India Mr Justice Y.K. Sabharwal. Mr Justice Jain remained Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court for over one year and is credited with bringing normalcy back to the controversy stricken High Court. Under him the High Court also got 13 new Judges while the case of elevation of three District and Sessions Judges to the High Court is also under consideration.

The Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, Mr Justice Markanday Katju, would also take oath along with Mr Justice Jain.

Meanwhile, Mr Justice HS Bedi the senior-most Judge of the High Court has been designated acting Chief Justice of the High Court. He would continue to hold the charge till the new Chief Justice is appointed.
