3 ex-Navy officers held
CBI raids 17 places in war-room leak case
New Delhi, April 6
In a swift operation last night, the CBI arrested five persons, including three former Naval officers, in connection with the sensational Navy war room leak case and conducted simultaneous raids at 17 places, including on premises of Ravi Shankaran, a kin of Navy Chief Admiral Arun Prakash.

JNU staff, students back Medha’s cause

Several students and faculty members from Jawaharlal Nehru University have joined the protest by the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) and expressed solidarity with Medha Patkar who is being kept in the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences after being forcibly removed from Jantar Mantar where she was on an indefinite fast.

Four killed in Aligarh clashes, curfew clamped
Aligarh, April 6 
Four persons were killed and nine injured, six of them seriously, when members of two communities indulged in firing and pelting stones, prompting the authorities to impose an indefinite curfew in three police station areas in this communally sensitive city today. State paramilitary forces along with a large number of police personnel have been deployed and patrolling intensified to maintain law and order, District Magistrate R K Singh said here. — PTI
