With their appointment, the number of Judges of the High Court has gone up to 40.

Interacting with the media after the oath ceremony, Chief Justice Jain, whose own case for elevation to the Supreme Court has been cleared by the President, said he would take the oath “whenever the Chief Justice of India wanted”.

He said he was happy with his tenure in Chandigarh and hopeful that the process of appointment of new Judges would continue under his successor.
