I gave AK-56 rifles to Dutt, admits Salem
Tribune News Service

Mumbai, March 1
Gangster Abu Salem has revealed details of how he transported assault rifles and weapons in the days before the 1993 serial bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai.

The confessional statement made by Salem before the CBI was opened today.

Salem told investigators that he had delivered two or three AK-56 rifles and ammunition to Sanjay Dutt.

A low-level gangster in the Dawood Ibrahim gang at that time, Salem had been used as a courier and messenger boy.

Dutt was among the accused present in court today.

In his submissions in the court, special prosecutor Ujjwal Nikham stated that fresh investigations had thrown up two new names in the case, both of whom were absconding.
