Ambala, February 19
A student was raped by her school teacher Rajesh Kumar at Chudiala village last evening. The girl was again raped by a youth who witnessed the earlier incident.

According to Mr K.K. Khandelwal, Director General, Secondary Education, Haryana, Rajesh Kumar has been suspended.

The SP, Ambala, Mr Rajbir Deswal, said a case was registered and both the persons involved in the incident were arrested.

He said the Class VIII student was returning home after completing her examination in the evening. She stopped to relieve herself.

The girl was a student of Government High School, Chudiala.

School teacher Rajesh, who was coming there, told the girl that he would leave her home. When they reached sugarcane fields, Rajesh allegedly told the girl that he would help her in getting good marks in return for sexual favour.

The girl refused. However, Rajesh allegedly overpowered her and raped her. While the girl was being raped by her teacher, a youth noticed the incident. The youth, Niranjan, threatened to blackmail the girl about the incident. Thereafter, he raped her.

A farmer along with others reached the spot. They took her to nearby Pasiala village where they enquired about the incident.

After learning about the details, farmers then took her home. At about midnight, the family of the rape victim went to the Nagla police chowki and a case was registered.
