Another EC rap for Bengal

New Delhi, February 10
In another rap for the Left Front government in poll-bound West Bengal, the Election Commission today voiced concern over the administration’s “poor performance” in executing non-bailable warrants against criminals and “unsatisfactory” electoral roll revision.

Acting on the report of 19 observers who toured the state for the second time early this week, a meeting of the full EC here took a serious view of the non-registration of FIR against those who intimidated people for having complained to the poll watchdog on electoral roll revision. It took the intervention of poll observers to have the FIRs registered, EC sources said. — PTI
