End strike or face action, HC tells lawyers

8 of family charred to death
Karaurr (Ludhiana), January 21
Eight members of a Muslim family , including six children and a woman, were charred to death when a fire broke out mysteriously in their thatched hut located in the fields in this village near Koomkalan early in the morning today. A five-day-old baby boy was also among the deceased.

5 hurt in grenade attack
Srinagar, January 21
Even as the police and security agencies continued their efforts to prevent any untoward incident for the Republic Day celebrations, militants lobbed a grenade at a CRPF post, injuring five persons, including three civilians, at Budshah Chowk here this afternoon.

‘Dosti’ returns sans Indian passengers
Amritsar, January 21
The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) luxury inaugural coach, Dosti, today returned to Lahore without any Indian passengers on board as common passengers stayed away from the Amritsar-Lahore bus, thanks to irritating security concerns and ‘‘communication gap’’.
