Mumbai, December 28
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan tied the knot with long time girlfriend Kiran Rao at a simple registered ceremony at his house in suburban Bandra this evening.
The ceremony, which was attended by the star’s family and close friends, did not see the presence of any major Bollywood stars, except Rani Mukherjee.
Although Aamir left his house couple of times during the day, he refused to speak to the media gathered outside. The couple along with the family and friends are expected to leave for Panchgani tonight, about 200 km from here, where they will usher in the New Year with a series of parties, expected to be attended by the film fraternity.
This is the second marriage for Khan, who had divorced his first wife some time ago, but the first one for Kiran.
The couple met while Kiran was assisting filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker during the making of “Lagaan”.
The couple will go to Bangalore after the reception where Kiran’s parents will host a reception for them.
