Portrait of neglect

The priceless pictorial depictions of the freedom movement are lying uncared for in the National Gallery of Portraits in Chandigarh. Aditi Tandon reports

The National Gallery of Portraits, Chandigarh, has been getting the attention due to it only in India’s annual tourism guide.

Stand out with scarv
THESE can be the one piece of clothing to complete your outfit and provide it with that ‘oomph’ factor. Inexpensive and chic, scarves are versatile and allow you to experiment with your wardrobe. It doesn’t need to be a Hermes brand in order to carry off an outfit. Your scarves could be the funkily coloured ones available in the street markets or the end bits of your chiffon salwar material.

Gory burgers for obesity
Concerned about the rapid growth of obesity among children, the UK Government has decided to put posters showing gory images of burger rolls filled with bones and gristle, all across the country, as a part of The Food4Thought campaign to shock children into improving their diets and help fight obesity.

Whining can get you the sack
Beware! If you are into the habit of whining about the weather or the broken photocopier to your bosses, it may cost you your job, as a German company has recently banned moaning, and has made them “sackable offences”.
