New Delhi, October 31
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf telephoned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh this evening to offer condolences for those who lost their lives in the terrorist bombings in Delhi and the railway accident in Andhra Pradesh on October 29.

The Prime Minister used the opportunity to again draw Gen Musharraf’s attention to Pakistan’s commitment to ending cross- border terrorism and said that India continued to be disturbed and dismayed at indications of the external linkages of terrorist groups with the October 29 bombing, and said India expects Pakistan to act against terrorism directed at India.

The Prime Minister told President Musharraf that the country was outraged at these heinous acts of terrorism. Violence against defenceless civilians could never be justified, the Prime Minister said, and terrorism would never weaken India’s resolve or its commitment to the country’s unity and territorial integrity.
