Bihar to vote decisively in favour of the RJD led

Militant
outfits continue operations despite losses in quake
New Delhi,

Despite two hardcore
militant outfits, the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and the Hizbul
Mujahideen, suffering major losses in the October 8
earthquake in PoK, militancy and infiltration attempts are
continuing in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said here today.
“Militancy is continuing in the valley even after the
killer quake that killed thousands in Jammu and Kashmir
and Muzaffarabad in PoK,” said Director-General of
Military Operation (DGMO) Lieut-Gen Madan Gopal.

Centre
nod for 3 road links between Himachal, Punjab
Chandigarh, October 15
Three important road links between
Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have been cleared for construction or
upgradation by the Union Ministry of Surface Transport. These links are
among the 11 road links, which Punjab have sought for economic
development of areas close to state boundaries. The other eight links
are likely to be approved, said officials concerned.

Amidst demand to hand over Mau to
the Army violence continued unabated on the third day today. Officially,
three persons have died and 28 injured. However, the figure could be
much higher. The police issued shoot at sight order for curfew
violators.

Myanmar agree to tackle cross-border terrorism
New Delhi, October 15
India and Myanmar have agreed to
further strengthen cooperation for tackling the activities of
insurgents, arms smugglers, drug traffickers and other hostile elements
along the border with Myanmar assuring that arms smugglers would be
severely punished if caught on its soil.

It is a week after the October 8 earthquake and Srinagar wakes up to a chilly morning. The sudden drop in temperature has everyone get his coats and jackets out.
In Uri and Tangdhar, earthquake victims would have huddled in makeshift
shelters, the luckier ones possessing tents and warm blankets, which
reached more people on Friday.
