LNG, gas pipeline deals on, says Iran
New Delhi, September 28
Even as Iran expressed its displeasure at the Indian vote in the IAEA resolution, the Islamic republic tonight categorically stated that LNG deal and the gas pipeline project with New Delhi were “still in force.”

India, China move closer on border issue

India and China had a “conscientious exploration” on the framework for settlement of the border problem during the sixth round of the Special Representative-level talks which concluded today.

Sarabjit Singh's lawyer today filed a petition in Pakistan's Supreme Court seeking a judicial review of its earlier decision sentencing Sarabjit to death, for his alleged involvement in the 1990 bomb blasts in Punjab province.

The bull run on the Sensex today took the markets to record levels breaching the 8,600 barrier. The Sensex which touched an intra-day high of 8,613 closed at 8,606 — up by 80 points.

Indo-Pak aviation talks fail
Islamabad, September 28
The Indian and Pakistani civil aviation officials did not make any headway in their talks to expand air links, by increasing passenger flights between the two countries. A joint statement issued at the conclusion of the two-day talks said both sides agreed to continue discussions.

Bus to Lahore from November
New Delhi, September 28
India and Pakistan today decided to start the Amritsar-Lahore bus service in the first half of November, inched closer to an agreement for starting the Nankana Sahib-Amritsar bus service but appeared to be still some distance away from a formal arrangement on opening up their skies further for increased civil aviation links.
