New York, September 14
India does not believe that US President George Bush is trying to draw a line between India-Iran relations on Teheran’s nuclear programme and implementing the joint agreement reached in July whereby Washington expressed its resolve to fully cooperate with India in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

Bush trying to isolate Iran diplomatically
New York, September 14
US President George Bush may have launched a failed drive to isolate Iran diplomatically and force it to face United Nations sanctions if it refuses to give up its efforts to develop its own nuclear technology, according to senior officials of the State Department.

The death sentence for Sarabjit Singh is “well deserved” and “warrants no leniency”, the Pakistan Supreme Court ruled while upholding the capital punishment on the Indian convicted for carrying out five bomb blasts in that country in 1990.

Submitting its final report on the Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) paper leak, the Vigilance Bureau has said that the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Dr J.S. Gujral, was not directly involved in the leak.

Two held for rape on train
Deogarh (Jharkhand),  September 14
The police today arrested a ticket examiner and a vendor and was looking out for three others, who allegedly raped a teenager in a running train, after recording the victim’s statement and lodging an FIR.
