Four others were injured in the landslide, sources said. In another landslide yesterday, five persons sustained injuries at Hanuman Tekdi in Antop Hill.

Several neighborhoods across the city were flooded as the city received more than 217 mm of rainfall till the early hours today.

Major arterial roads in the city were thrown out of bounds for traffic. Train services were disrupted after railway tracks were flooded.

The authorities have warned people not to leave their homes unless very urgent.

Fire officials said a young girl died and her brothers and sisters suffered severe injuries in a wall collapsed this morning.

Minor landslides were reported at several other places.

Civic teams have begun evacuating people living in low-lying areas. According to Mumbai’s Municipal Commissioner Johny Joseph, 300 families were evacuated from Kurla and another 200 families from Dahisar.
