Stepping up violence in Assam in the run-up to the Independence Day, ULFA militants today exploded a bomb at Boko, near here, killing four persons, besides blasting oil pipelines in three districts.

11 killed in Uttaranchal landslides
Dehra Dun, August 7
At least 11 persons were killed and hundreds rendered homeless when their houses were submerged in an artificial lake formed due to landslides triggered by heavy rains in Uttaranchal, official sources said today.

Left parties call for Bihar bandh
