I’ll not rejoin LS, says Mamata Kolkata, August 6 She invited all like-minded political parties to join her anti-Marxist stir for dislodging the CPM, in power in Bengal since 1977. However, before returning to the city from the Capital, she wanted to meet the President, Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam, the Election Commission and the Delimitation Commissioner to seek her party’s intervention in protecting their legal and constitutional rights and privileges to participate in the elections and democratic functioning, which had been taken away by the ruling CPM, she said. The Congress had welcomed Ms Banerjee’s proposed stir against the CPM but did not approve of her “indecent” behaviour in the Lok Sabha. Mrs Sonia Gandhi has invited her back to the Congress and asked her to lead the party in the next Assembly elections against the CPM. |
