Taj is national property, says Muslim League Ayodhya, July 14 State vice-president of Muslim League Nazmul Hasssan Gani said here that the Taj Mahal was the ‘’Taj’’ of India and hence could only be termed a national property. Taking a dig at the UPSWB over its declaration yesterday, Dr Gani said instead of establishing its claim to the monument, the board should first work for the maintenance of its existing properties which were lying in a woeful state. “The board has taken this decision only for scooping share in the annual earnings from the ‘’monument of love,’’ he alleged. Meanwhile, a report from Lucknow said Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today made it clear that the state government would not interfere in the Taj Mahal management and denied the possibility of a ‘clash’ with the Centre over the issue. Talking to reporters, Mr Yadav said it was the “right” of the UPSWB to identify its property. He, however, said when the Archaeological Survey of India had already announced that it would move the high court to challenge the board’s decision, it was for the court to decide on the matter.
