Indian goes missing from ship

New Delhi, June 22
An Indian national, employee of a Mumbai-based shipping company, has allegedly gone missing from a vessel during its journey from Houston in the US to Nigeria.

Arbind Kumar Singh, 2nd Engineer on board the vessel MT “Jag Leela” owned by “The Great Eastern Shipping Co Ltd”, has been reported missing since June 14 and his family suspects that he has been murdered.

According to details available here with the family, Arbind Kumar Singh was found missing on the morning of June 14 while the ship, a tanker, was heading for Antan in Nigeria from Houston to pick up crude.

The matter has been reported to the Indian Embassy in Nigeria.

Arbind’s wife Manisha suspects foul play and has sought a thorough probe into the matter. — PTI
