Pataudi surrenders before court

Jhajjhar, June 18
Former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, wanted in connection with a black buck hunting case, surrendered in a court here today, a day after Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea.

Pataudi was the only person to surrender from among the six accused in the case, Jhajjar senior Superintendent of Police Hanief Qureshi said.

He surrendered before the Duty Magistrate at the Jhajjar court.

Asked what would be the next line of action for police, Qureshi said it would depend on the court's orders.

The former cricketer and seven others had been booked for allegedly poaching a black buck and two rabbits near here on June 3. While one person was arrested in this connection, the others are yet to be traced. — PTI
