Advani’s resignation a drama, say Congress, CPI
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, June 10
The Congress today dubbed as “soap opera” and “tamasha” the resignation by BJP chief L.K. Advani and its subsequent withdrawal.

“We are seeing another chapter of the Great Indian Tamasha coming to a close. But this is a soap opera which only ends to restart in the near future. The nation has no option but to wait during the commercial break till the next instalment,” Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.

The spokesman said, “Perhaps the threat perception of Mr Advani generated a real fear that his resignation might actually be accepted.”

The CPI described the resignation of Mr Advani and its subsequent withdrawal as “a big drama full of duplicity.”

“It is Mr Advani’s surrender,” CPI leader D Raja said. He said the BJP had to explain Mr Advani’s resignation “drama” and subsequent events.
