New Delhi, June 5
The National Democratic Alliance today got a shot in the arm with the Communist Party of India clearly indicating that it would not have any poll alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal led by Lalu Prasad Yadav in the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections in October-November.
The CPI decision not to have any truck with the RJD would once again split the secular alliance as in the last assembly elections, which resulted in a hung assembly and the imposition of President’s Rule.
“Party would negotiate with the Left and democratic forces like the LJP, CPM, CPI (ML), SP, NCP and the Congress for seats in the Bihar poll and strive to increase the number of seats for the party “substantially” in the coming elections,” said CPI General Secretary A.B. Bardhan on the conclusion of the three-day National Executive meet here.
