Phukan report rejected
New Delhi, May 13
The UPA government today displayed its determination to go after former Defence Minister George Fernandes by rejecting the findings of the Phukan Commission report which probed the Tehelka expose into fictitious defence deals.

The NDA convener and former Defence Minister, Mr George Fernandes, said today that the UPA government’s accompanying note on the Phukan Commission’s report tabled in Parliament sought to assail the report without advancing any “coherent reasons.”

In the second such incident in the past decade, a parcel bomb wrapped in a “box of sweets” exploded killing three members of a family in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior police official said today.
