Lalu remarks will hit good governance, says Advani

Mumbai, May 8
Taking exception to Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s comments on two Election Commissioners on the issue of countermanding the Chhapra Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, the BJP today said it affected good governance and institutions.

Without naming the Union Minister, Bharatiya Janata Party president L.K. Advani today said two Election Commissioners had been accused of deliberately countermanding the poll in Chhapra.

“Election Commissioners are like judges of the Supreme Court. No one, more so a member of the government, can criticise them”, Mr Advani said in his valedictory address to a three-day training workshop for ministers of seven BJP-ruled states at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabhodini at Uttan in neighbouring Thane district. — UNI
