Cabinet decides to abolish CAT

New Delhi, April 20
The government today decided to amend the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985, to provide for abolition of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and State Administrative Tribunals (SATs).

A Bill for the purpose was proposed to be introduced in the ongoing Budget session of Parliament, Information and Broadcasting Minister S. Jaipal Reddy told reporters after the decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. — UNI
