India, Pak clear passengers for April 21 bus

Srinagar, April 16
Undettered by militant threats, India and Pakistan have cleared the names of passengers who will board the second “Karvaan-e-Aman” (Caravan of Peace) Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus on April 21.

“Yes, the list of passengers were exchanged by the two sides near the Line of Control yesterday’’, Regional Passport Officer (RPO) John S Shilsi said this morning.

He said Pakistan had cleared the names of 30 passengers. Similarly, Mr Shilsi, who has been authoritised by the government to issue travel permits from here and also approve the names of those intending to visit from PoK, said we, too, have approved the names of 30 passengers from that side. A group of four militant organisations early this week claimed to have the list of passengers travelling in the second bus to Muzaffarabad.

However, Mr Shilsi refused to comment on the militants’ claim that they were in possession of the list of the Indian passengers who would board the next cross-border bus on April 21. — UNI
