Tricolour upside down on Pervez’s plane

New Delhi, April 16
The Indian Tricolour was flying upside down on General Pervez Musharraf’s PIA plane when it arrived at Jaipur in an apparent diplomatic faux pax by Pakistan.

TV footage showed the green band of the Tricolour flying up on the right side of the special Pakistani aircraft’s nose as the General stepped down to begin what is seen as his breakthrough visit since the failed Agra summit of 2001.

The Pakistani flag was strung along the plane’s left side, facing TV cameras directly.

General Musharraf, accompanied by his wife, then boarded an Indian Air Force helicopter that flew him to Ajmer.

The Indian flag continued to hang upside down on the PIA plane until TV stations beamed the bloomer. — UNI
