Curfew relaxed in Dongargarh

Raipur, February 11
Curfew was relaxed for two hours today in Chhattisgarh’s Dongargarh town, 110 km from here, which had witnessed clashes between members of two communities following the elopement of two girls with a couple of boys.

The curfew, that was relaxed for some time, would continued, IGP, Raipur range, Durgesh Madhav Awasthi, said. The situation was under control and no incident was reported during the relaxation period, Mr Awasthi, who is camping at the spot, said.

Meanwhile, the National Commission of Minorities (NCM) has ordered an inquiry into Sikh complaints that members of the community were attacked and their commercial complexes set on fire in Chhattisgarh after alleged elopement of two women with their boyfriends. — PTI, UNI
