Prime accused in Kislay kidnapping shot

Patna, February 9
Dreaded gangster Vicky Thakur, prime accused in the kidnapping of DPS student Kislay Gupta, was killed in an encounter with the police here a day after the arrest of three members of the Chunnu Thakur gang.

Following a tip-off by Brijesh, Rajan Choudhury and Rajesh, alias Chintu, members of the gang who were arrested in Delhi on Monday night, a police team headed by Deputy Superintendent (Secretariat) Arshad Zaman and his Danapaur counterpart Dilnawaz Ahmed cordoned off a place in Shastri Nagar here late last night.

As Vicky and his accomplices, who were hiding there after their arrival from New Delhi by a train, tried to run away spraying bullets, the police returned the fire killing Vicky on the spot. — PTI
