Chandigarh, February 2
Employees of The Tribune paid rich tributes to the founder of The Tribune Trust, Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, on the occasion of the 125th Foundation Day today. The function was organised by The Tribune Employees Union where all those present remembered Sardar Majithia and reiterated their commitment to honest and fearless journalism.
The employees took a pledge saying “on the occasion let all of us re-dedicate ourselves to our institution and bring greater glory to our beloved organisation through hard work and discipline”
The General Manager of The Tribune, Mr R.N. Gupta, asked the employees to work with full dedication to continue the noble traditions started by Sardar Majithia. Senior Associate Editor A.J. Philip pressed upon the need to work hard to maintain the newspaper’s lead in the field of journalism in view of the emerging competition in the newspaper industry.
The Tribune Employees Union President and General Secretary, Mr Jagtar Singh Sidhu and Mr Anil Gupta while paying floral tributes to the founder asked the employees to continue doing their best for the growth of the organisation.
Mr Sidhu said all worker were committed and devoted to their work and were willing to do anything to counter the competing market forces. Mr Anil Gupta assured all the workers that the union would continue to work for the betterment of all the employees.
About 600 employees were present on the occasion. These included The Tribune Additional General Manager, Mr. O.P. Arora and Editors of Dainik Tribune and Punjabi Tribune, Mr Naresh Kaushal and Mr Shingara Singh Bhullar.
