Portugal court allows Salem’s extradition

New Delhi, January 28
The Portugal Supreme Court has allowed extradition of the 1993 Mumbai bomb serial blasts accused Abu Salem to India.

The Supreme Court of Portugal, while deciding on two petitions filed by Salem and the CBI through Portuguese prosecutor-general, ruled that Salem could be extradited to India for his trial in major offences, CBI sources said.

The Portuguese High court had earlier allowed extradition of Salem to India for trial only in minor offences. — PTI
