Will it be beneficial to make CPE mandatory for all chartered accountants?
There is a move to implement the continuing professional education requirement not only for practising chartered accountants but all those who’ve completed the course. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi, is working out modalities for making it mandatory for all qualified CAs, most likely from next year. The CPE qualification entails that the CAs who do not hold the certificate of practice get 10 CPE credits. Manoj Kumar presents the views of two professionals in this field.
