New Delhi, December 9
The government has advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to go ahead with the matches in Chittagong on the basis of its security team’s report, Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Navtej Sarna announced today.

“We have now received assessment of the Indian security team that went to Chittagong. The team made a full assessment of the security arrangements, in consultation with the Bangladesh authorities. The joint inspections covered the venues, hotels and other areas where the Indian cricket team would be expected to be present. The security team made specific recommendations for strengthening security arrangements and these have been accepted by the Bangladesh authorities,” the spokesman said.
