New Delhi, November 13
National Security Adviser J.N. Dixit is leaving here for China on November 16 evening for the next round of Special representatives-level boundary talks with his Chinese counterpart Dai Bingguo, according to well-placed sources.

Mr Dixit will be back home on November 20. Mr Dixit’s China visit assumes significance also because the Prime Ministers of India and China are scheduled to have a meeting on the margins of the tenth ASEAN Suumit in Laos on November 29-30.

There is a possibility that between November 17 and 20, Mr Dixit may meet his Pakistani counterpart, Mr Tariq Aziz, in a third country.

The Dixit-Aziz meeting may take place either enroute to China or when he is returning home from China.

A possible venue of this meeting could be Singapore. It is understood that Mr Aziz is also scheduled to be in Singapore in the next couple of days.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is due for his maiden India visit (November 23-24). Though Mr Shaukat Aziz will be in Delhi primarily in context of SAARC, bilateral issues would inevitably come up for discussion during his talks with the Indian leadership.
