the Congress-NCP-Republican Party of India alliance returns to power in

today won both Kapurthala and Garhshankar Assembly seats. The
Congress retained the Kapurthala seat, as its candidate Sukhjinder
Rana defeated her rival former Punjab minister Raghbir Singh of the
SAD by a margin of 13,290 votes. |
