PM briefs Advani, Jaswant on meeting with Musharraf

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met Leaders of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh today and in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani, respectively, yesterday as part of his plan to brief the allies as well as the Opposition on his meetings with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and US President George Bush in New York last week.

Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh experienced fresh snowfall today, plumetting the temperature in the region. The high altitude areas in the tribal district of Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur experienced snowfall since this morning, while Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul Spiti, received rain today.

The Wildlife Week celebrations at the Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park, located in Chhat village about 20 km from Chandigarh, began on a happy note when a female hippopotamus gave birth to a calf early this morning.
