More than 20 workers
have been trapped inside a tunnel being excavated for the execution
of the 2051 MW Parbati Hydel Project near Barsiani village after
slush blocked the mouth of the tunnel due to a cloudburst in the
higher reaches of the area, almost 70 km from Kullu, last night.

on high alert after Chinese warning Shimla, August 8
The civil administration, the Army
and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police were again put on high alert following
a flash message from the Chinese authorities that the lake formed in Tibet
due to blocking of Parchu, a tributary of the Sutlej, could overflow or
the blockage could give way anytime during the next 24 hours.

Govt open to dialogue with
Naxals, Hurriyat New Delhi, August 8
The Centre favours a dialogue with Naxals, but with caution and will not be rigid in talks with Hurriyat Conference in Kashmir.
