Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje coming out of the Prime Minister’s office after a meeting with Dr Manmohan Singh Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today met Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh as part of the Centre’s efforts to grapple with the sudden inter-state crisis resulting from the passage of the controversial Punjab Termination of Agreements Bill 2004.

SC admits PIL against Governors’ sacking

The Supreme Court today admitted a petition challenging the sacking of the governors of four states by the UPA government for their RSS affiliation, saying the public interest litigation filed in this regard “raises an important public issue involving interpretation of Article 156 of the Constitution.”

Eleven persons were killed and 29 injured when a bus (HP-06A-7501) of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation rolled down into a 175-foot gorge near Thain village on the Hamirpur-Nadaun highway early this morning.
