SGPC elections: Badal urges President, PM to intervene
Chandigarh/New Delhi, May 30
While there has been no communication so far from the Ministry of Home Affairs about the postponement of the July 11 SGPC poll, SAD President Parkash Singh Badal today sought intervention of the President and the Prime Minister to scuttle such a move.

Eight Indians among 22 killed in Saudi attacks
Dubai, May 30
Commandos today ended a 25-hour hostage drama, storming a luxury housing complex in the Saudi Arabian oil city of Al Khobar, freeing over 50 persons held captive by militants who carried out twin attacks, killing 22 persons, including eight Indians.

Jaguar engine defective, fleet grounded
New Delhi, May 30
The Indian Air Force said today that it had 'brought to ground' the entire fleet of its Jaguar fighter aircraft to check on a technical defect, which had caused some of these planes to crash on routine sorties.

The CBI arrested a senior official of Hindustan Aeronautics along with his conduit last night on charges of offering bribe to an agency official to wind up a disproportionate assets case against him.
