Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal, above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 44.3°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).
