The two prime accused in the CBSE’s pre-medical question paper leak, Ranjeet Verma and his brother Satinder Verma, surrendered before the Karkardooma courts here this evening.
Ranjeet Verma, a fourth year MBBS student of Nagpur Medical College, and Satinder Verma suddenly emerged before Metropolitan Magistrate Chandra Shekhar in Karkardooma courts. After surrendering in the court the duo pleaded that they were “innocent” in the whole episode.
After advocate S.K. Ahluwalia moved an application expressing their desire to surrender, the court accepted their plea and remanded them to two-day judicial custody. In fact the surrender took place a few hours after another key accused in the April 10 case, Bhani Singh Gautam, was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Shahabuddin. Gautam was remanded to police custody for six days.
