New Delhi, April 12
The All-India pre-medical and pre-dental entrance examination, which was cancelled following the incident of paper leak, will now be held on April 17, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced here today.

Controller of Examination Pavnesh Kumar informed mediapersons that the AIPMT 2004 would be held between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. He added that the examination would be held at the same centres as mentioned in the admit cards issued to the candidates earlier and the roll numbers would also remain the same.

The examination scheduled for yesterday was cancelled after the question papers were leaked on Saturday night following the arrest of two persons carrying the papers.

Meanwhile, after yesterday’s protest staged by angry students and their parents, it was time for the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad to show their solidarity with the students concerned.

The ABVP demanding an “apology” from the CBSE also called for a “time-bound” inquiry to identify those responsible.

The ABVP activists held a demonstration outside the headquarters of the CBSE and also hinted at the complicity of the CBSE officials. Demanding a “probe” they said the question papers could not have been leaked without the involvement of the top CBSE officials.
